To create a unified voice for improving the quality of pediatric (children and adolescent) health care, four leading national organizations formed the Alliance for Pediatric Quality (APQ). These organizations are the American Academy of Pediatrics, The American Board of Pediatrics, Child Health Corporation of America and the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions.
The centerpiece of the APQ's strategy to improve the quality of care for children is their Improve First initiative. This effort is dedicated to the single most important first step the pediatric community can take to measurably improve children's health outcomes and transform how care is delivered: make sure that effective care is recognized and spread among all pediatric care providers.
The APQ recognizes systematic, well-designed and well-run improvement initiatives, and has committed to supporting Improve Care Now as one of its four Improve First projects because of our demonstrated results in care and patient outcomes.
