The ImproveCareNow Board of Directors announced today that Shehzad Saeed, MD, FAAP, AGAF has accepted the position of Clinical Director of ImproveCareNow. Dr. Saeed will begin his new duties on May 1, 2020, to begin onboarding to the role with ImproveCareNow Co-founder and Executive Network Director, Dr. Richard B. Colletti.
Dr. Saeed currently leads the Community Council (formerly Strategy Council) and has been a member of ImproveCareNow since 2010. Dr. Saeed completed his medical school education at Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He then completed his pediatric residency at the University of Chicago and his fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition at The Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts University, Boston. He has served in various leadership roles, including Fellowship Director, and Division Director and Clinical Director at the University of Alabama, Birmingham and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Dr. Saeed is currently a Professor of Pediatrics at Wright State University, and he serves as Associate Chief Medical Officer of Dayton Children’s Hospital, as well as Chief Medical Officer of the Clinically Integrated Network and Physician Lead for Patient and Family Experience. He has been a leader in the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), including as Chair of the IBD Committee and the Public Education Committee. Dr. Saeed’s focus is improving the care and quality of life of children with IBD, ensuring that they grow up to reach their full potential.
In his free time, Dr. Saeed enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, traveling, reading, and volunteering with fellow medical school alumni, professional organizations, and community partners.
In his new role as Clinical Director of ImproveCareNow, Dr. Saeed will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to plan, develop and direct ImproveCareNow’s continuous learning system to achieve breakthrough performance on the network’s goals for better health, a more engaged community and faster, more meaningful research for children and families living with IBD.

Dr. Saeed will be working closely with the ImproveCareNow Board of Directors, Executive Directors, the newly appointed Transition Director and the Project Management Team to facilitate a smooth transition and the continued momentum of ImproveCareNow.
