Educational Gap

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) affects 80,000+ children and adolescents in the United States. Healthcare teams providing care to these children and adolescents need access to and training on quality improvement (QI) tools and methods. This enables them to reduce unintended variation in care and improve clinical processes and outcomes. They also need direct contact with parents and patients to share ideas on how best to create meaningful partnerships. Improved QI, research, and community engagement skills give these interdisciplinary teams the opportunity to standardize care, improve clinical processes and patient outcomes.

Proposal Criteria

The Community Conference Content Committee (4C) – formed from stakeholders across the community (including clinicians, patients, and parent partners) – uses the following criteria during the review and selection process to develop an engaging agenda. Please use the criteria as a guide as you develop your proposal.

Presenters must attend the conference and meet all speaker and material deadlines.

Content is aligned with our Learner Objectives and ICN Strategic Goals.  If selected, your session will be placed in one of the listed content tracks

Proposal Guidance

Submit a proposal that clearly outlines objectives, includes interactive elements, and offers actionable resources. We welcome innovative ideas, data-driven insights, and multi-disciplinary perspectives to help close gaps in care and strengthen our community.

Create a transformative experience by enabling people to learn by doing.

In addition to a lecture style session with Q&A and polling, we are interested in proposals that allow attendees to experience new ways of learning together.

Examples include allowing time and providing opportunities for attendees to explore your session topic by:

  • Discussing solutions to challenges they are facing
  • Giving feedback or suggestions
  • Developing a QI plan to integrate your session topic at their care center
  • Developing talking points to use at their care center

Provide a deeper understanding of the topic and an inclusive and engaging experience by incorporating different perspectives.

  • Coordinators can provide insight into the impact, execution, and instruction
  • Patients, parents, and caregivers can provide insight on impact or lived experience
    • A limited number of patient/caregiver scholarships will be available. Please consider how your center can help support patient/caregiver conference attendance.
  • Clinicians can provide clinical knowledge and expertise

Contact [email protected] to identify and connect with speakers and/or content contributors across our credentialed healthcare providers, patients, and parent/caregivers in each proposal.
