ImproveCareNow is a collaborative community where clinicians, researchers, parents and patients work together to outsmart IBD and get children and youth healthier. The year 2016 promises to be full of exciting discovery, improvement and innovation, as we develop or expand important programs:
- Determining the risk of cancer from current and new medications
- Meeting the needs of families when they first learn their child has Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
- Expanding our research program to learn more about inflammatory bowel disease
- Enhancing our communications program to better share with patients and parents
We believe all children and youth with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis should be cared for at an ImproveCareNow center, where 80% of patients are in clinical remission (feeling well and fully active), 90% have satisfactory nutrition, 93% have satisfactory growth and 94% are not taking steroids.
