ImproveCareNow has announced that it is seeking the support of its incredibly committed community, to raise funds that will support the continued inclusion of patients and parents at Community Conferences. Donations to this fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000 and will cover travel and registration costs for parents and patients to attend the Fall 2018 Community Conference in Chicago.
"Until now, we have relied on grant funding to support the expense-free participation of parents and patients in these conferences," said Sarah Myers, ImproveCareNow Executive Improvement Director. “In this increasingly cost-conscious health care environment, we need additional financial support to ensure patients and parents are front and center at our conferences. 100% of funds received will cover travel and registration costs for parents and patients, who will have a direct impact on in the improvement of IBD care at 109 care centers participating in ImproveCareNow."
“We believe that when patients and parents are true partners, we can get even better outcomes” added Dr. Richard Colletti, President and Executive Network Director for ImproveCareNow. “Parent and patient partners are vital to our mission and success. They partner with local care teams to make real improvements in care for patients and families in their local community. They participate in our national Patient Advisory Council and Parent Working Group, both of which have a role in leading national research and quality improvement efforts, and projects that improve care for young patients with IBD NOW. Finally, they have been pivotal and fully invested participants in our twice-yearly Community Conferences, where they learn and teach alongside clinicians, researchers, and health care administrators.”
Please join us in continuing to build a community that is led WITH patients and parents.
