From diagnosis, to symptoms, to treatments, to (hopefully) remission - every person living with IBD has a unique experience with it. This is Rohit's:

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in early September of 2016 after experiencing an on-and-off flareup during the summer. The flare ups continued to be on-and-off after I tried milder medications. Eventually, my family and I had consulted a second opinion to confirm that I did indeed have Crohn’s disease. By December of 2016, I had fallen very ill and became hospitalized two days after my 18th birthday.

However, since then, I’ve tried stronger medications and was able to not only get into remission, but become much more knowledgeable on what inflammatory bowel disease or IBD is. Fast forward a few years later, I have had the privilege to be a part of such a strong and supportive group in ImproveCareNow and PAC to be an advocate on behalf of the pediatric IBD community.

While there may continue to be ups and downs in the future with IBD, I believe that now I am better prepared and blessed with such great support.
